  • ABOUT BARE KNITWEAR:
  • Bare Knitwear was born from a desire to create luxurious, heirloom knitwear while preserving traditional craft and supporting artisan communities.

  • The brand’s first collection was hand knit in 2012, from a small studio on the West Coast of Canada. The search for honest, small-scale production, sustainable fibres, and artisan craftsmanship pointed to the beautiful, rugged landscape of the Peruvian Andes. In 2014, after weeks spent working with artisans in remote regions, Bare Knitwear products found their home in Ayacucho, Peru. From a hostel room high in the Andes, the first order was written, forging a new journey.

  • Today, Bare Knitwear continues to collaborate with small producers and artisan groups throughout Peru for the development of their signature alpaca, wool, and pima cotton collections. Proud of the personal relationships the brand has developed with their partners, each Bare Knitwear design is brought to life through a collaborative development process merging heritage artisanship with modern design.
